G-Loc Brakes Australia is a brand new and exciting venture for Herring Racing. Todd Herring has worked on cars since he was 6 years old. Starting speedway at the young age of 11 started his passion for racing. In 2012 Todd bought his first MX5 race car and started his journey in racing, building and developing these cars. These years of research and development have earnt Todd one of the most trusted, knowledgable and respected names in MX5 racing. Todd's experience and knowledge is not limited to only MX5's, his skill set is across a broad range of road and race cars. There are now many Herring Racing MX5's seen on Australian race tracks.

G-Loc Brakes USA have created a brand that nobody can beat. Their experience and knowledge has created a brake pad of the highest quality and performance. Herring racing saw that there is nothing like this in the Australian market, so approached Danny from G-Loc for the chance to distribute his quality product. Thankfully Danny was as equally excited to partner with Herring Racing and so our adventure with G-Loc Brakes begins.

G-LOC™ Brakes has over 50 years of racing experience. G-LOC Brakes™ was created by racers with the sole intention of providing the highest level of performance friction materials and truly outstanding customer service in the market. Our extreme wide range of compounds and pads will cover anything and everything from a go-kart to a Miata, to a Mustang, to a Porsche, to vintage race cars and even armored vehicles all around the world. We offer brake pads for all aftermarket big brake kits (BBK) regardless of manufacturer. We have the capabilities to custom manufacture brake friction solutions for your application. G-LOC™ supplies high performance brake pads for daily drivers, occasional track day enthusiasts, HPDE regulars, autocrossers, club racers, professional racers, armored vehicles, law enforcement vehicles, emergency vehicles, and even heavy duty military vehicles.
The broad range of G-LOC™ friction material formulations will provide the highest performance over all operating conditions. Our unsurpassed modulation/control with a very smooth release is what gives you total control of maximizing your braking ability.

​Only G-LOC™ uses proprietary Carbon, Ceramic, Kevlar, and Metallic compound formulations. We do not load up our compounds with carbon and iron like most of our competitors like to do, which is extremely harsh on your discs/rotors. G-LOC™ compound formulations are some of the most disc/rotor friendly compounds offered in the world. Each G-LOC™ compound is the result of an extensive and rigorous R&D process that gives our customers peace of mind knowing that they can rely on the consistency and high performance nature of every one of our compounds.

All G-LOC™ compounds are created in a controlled environment where everything from air temp, humidity, water temp, and weight (of each ingredient used) have exact specifications that must be met when a compound batch is created. This process is checked no less than 3 times up to 5 times during this process by multiple skilled personnel. The result is a superior and consistent product for the end user.

Our compounds are some of the most disc/rotor friendly in the industry. As new materials and technology come to market we are always looking for ways to improve existing compounds along with developing new compounds and new products.
​While our competition continues to use carbon & iron as their main ingredients in their compounds, G-LOC™ Brakes™ will continue down the proven road Danny & Chris proved to be successful at over the last 10 plus years with ceramic, carbon, Kevlar, and semi-metallic based compounds. An “on/off” switch, that’s what most of our competitor’s brake pads perform like. It’s either full on or full off, nothing in between. This “on/off” switch type of pad has no modulation, control, or smooth release unlike the G-LOC™ compounds. This “on/off” type of performance upsets the balance of your car under braking making it even more difficult to control. This makes trail-braking almost impossible as well. These types of “on/off” compounds are typically loaded with iron and carbon, and too much of these two materials will form carbide under heat. Carbide is not what you want to use on your disc/rotor surface. The result will be a compound that is extremely abrasive on your discs/rotors. For G-LOC™ customers this is not what you want nor will you get with G-LOC™ compounds. Unmatched modulation, smooth release, trail-braking ability, excellent thermal capacity, excellent thermal barrier from your brake fluid, broad heat ranges, and the most disc/rotor friendly materials in the market is what you will get with G-LOC Brakes™.
